For our second video analysis we chose Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F) - Katy Perry
The music video over stereotypes the genre characteristics of a pop music video and and plays the video off as a movie by having credits at the beginning and end of the video. There is a strong relationship between the music and visuals as well as the lyrics and visuals, with the lyrics often played out during the video. The video uses a lot of close ups of the singer Katy Perry, and fits in with her other music videos which are also quite eccentric. There is frequent use of a computer screen to show images of the party shown in the video. There is also use of voyeurism between both sexes within the video. There are references towards other famous singers and actors which make cameo appearances in the video.
